This past Wednesday we went to Boston with my family to visit my sister and have a
mini- break.
My sister lives in The North End of Boston which is affectionately known as "Little Italy". We stayed at La Cappella Suites which is right near my sister's apartment and in the heart of The North End. La Cappella Suites is a family owned and operated Bed & Breakfast which is in a renovated brick Chapel from 1941. The current owners added several new floors which now make up the bed & breakfast, the rest of the building is inhabited by the owners. We had the entire 5th floor which has two bed rooms and a beautiful light common area with a kitchen and table. The refrigerator was filled with breakfast food and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Both of the bedrooms were large and inviting with balconies that looked out on the Boston skyline.
The larger Palmero Room had a private bath, king size bed, and a glimpse of the harbor. Our room the Messina Room had the larger balcony and a queen size bed. We only saw the owner when she brought a portable crib up for our son and when we checked out. I actually liked this about La Cappella Suites, we were given a code to the front door that was good for our entire stay. When we arrived, we let ourselves in and the keys were waiting for us in an envelope in the front entry. Having a system like this really made it feel like you were staying in your own apartment in Boston, I thought it was brilliant. Definitely check out La Cappella Suites the next time you are in Boston, it is the perfect place to stay in the North End.
We finished off our break with a trip to Ikea to pick up lighting for "The Project".
This was the perfect mini-break.
