DIY Face Toner!

We had to go down to New York for a few days but I'm back and I thought I would share my DIY Face Toner Recipe. As you know I'm really into natural face products and I love a good toner. I had been buying Dr. Hauschska's face toner but awhile back I decided to try and make my own and now I'll never buy face toner again! It's super simple and fun, so here goes.

You'll need a spray bottle or small 2-3 ounce bottle preferably glass. I use my old Dr. Hauschksa one!

One bottle of witch hazel, you can get straight witch hazel or they make nice blends for specific skin tones like with aloe or lavender etc. You can get this at any CVS, Walgreen's, Or health food store.

4-5 Organic Green Tea Bags

2-3 Herbal Tea Bags or fresh loose herb of your choice. I like Chamomile, Lavender, Chrysanthemum.

Filtered water

In a Pot boil about a tea cup size portion of water, Remove from heat and add all of the tea bags/loose herbs and COVER!

Let stand COVERED for at least 25 min. I like to do up to an hour.

Strain if necessary and fill your glass bottle half way with the tea

Now fill the bottle the rest of the way with the witch hazel and shake.

That's it!

This face toner is filled with amazing anti-oxidants for your skin from the green tea.

If you use Chamomile or Lavender they are great for any sensitivity or redness you might have. The Chrysanthemum is good for acne.

The witch hazel is great for shrinking pores and keeping the toner preserved. It is also effective in shrinking and preventing broken capillaries.

You will love it! I use the toner immediately after washing my face and throughout the day for a refresher. If you have any recipes for DIY face care or other herbs you like to use in your toner, let me know!

Brilliant idea! I'm desperate to try this now. I suppose you could use natural fragrances and so forth to give it a different scent as well!
