The weather has been funny here in Maine lately and today is no exception. We decided that despite the blustery cool wind we would make our way to the farmer's market downtown. I love the farmer's market for many reasons. There is something special about getting your food from the people who have grown/made it. I also love people watching and this is the place to do it. After browsing for a while we picked our poisons and headed home to relish in our bounty which included:
* Two blocks of handmade cheese from down the road
* Three quarts of Organic Strawberries
* 2 ounces of Chanterelle Mushrooms
* A bouquet of flowers from my lover
* Two free "I Love Cheese Stickers" from the cheese lady
* Dozen local eggs

Lovely picks-enjoy them all this weekend!!
I love visiting the markets and getting real, homemade and homegrown food. It's so much more satisfying than the stuff my cafeteria feeds us...
whoa- Bath!!! I'm the opposite from you, it seems- grew up in Bath, now live in Manhattan (well, most of the year, anyways)!!
I love the Farmer's Market! (Goranson's farm is the best!)
What a coincidence! I've been reading your blog for a while now, but had no idea where in Maine you were from!
