Bringing Maine to New Heights

The chickadee may have replaced the cooked lobster on our license plate, but Maine's state slogan is still "Vacationland" and our taste in shoes definitely reflects this. San Diego and Maine are alike in a lot of ways. People are laid back, generally don't take themselves too seriously, surf (yes we have surfers in Maine) and are content wearing flip flops. Except unlike San Diego, Maine has less flip flops and more Crocs, Boat Shoes, Tevas, Birkenstocks, Dansko Clogs, and other non decrepit outdoor shoes. I confess in my closet which is packed with Vintage Gucci Boots, Neon Green Manolo Blahniks, Vintage 40's Alligator Pumps, Ferragamo Flats, and too many more to list, there also are a pair of Dansko Clogs (they are SO comfortable) and my new favorite pair of flip flops with lobsters on them (thanks Renny's)and I can't forget my favorite pair of poka dot wellies, but everyday, all the time? Can you see where I'm going with this? I think it's time to spice it up a bit Mainers, let's bring back the purely indulgent, purely sexy, purely for show shoe. Maybe not for the everyday, gardening, running around with the babies, washing your car life, but then again maybe! I admit I haven't mastered the 4 inch heels with baby Jacob Diego yet...... but at least let's take it up a notch for evenings. Step it up! Here are my pics for shoes that will make you say wow! Check out all the vintage shoes and designer shoes at Rice and Beans Vintage.

Check out these white quilted leather CHANEL Flats at Rice and Beans Vintage! These are perfect for everyday or a night out and they are hot!

Rice and Beans Vintage also has these amazing Vintage Chrisitan Dior Maryjanes that are perfect for fall and ridiculously cute.

Way out of my budget, but fun to look at are these Cynthia Vincent Suede Zip Boots at Neiman Marcus.

Super Affordable Vintage inspired American Eagle Jinx Platform Sandal at Payless with a cork sole!
For the guys or ladies for that matter, I LOVE how Converse has teamed up with RED and is donating a portion of these cool "design your own" chucks to the cause.

I don't think so! Comfy & Practical is what Mainers like. for show............a bit of glitter on flip flops!
